Donations

Materials

The library gratefully accepts donations of library materials that are in good condition and especially appreciates donations of recent bestsellers. If you wish to donate library materials, please read our donation policy first: <link to policy> For more information on how to donate materials to the library, please contact our library manager.

Money, Funds or Planned Giving

Demand for the library's programs and collections grow every day. New services and technologies challenge our resources. Your gift allows the library to continue to meet, and to improve, for today and for future generations. Each gift provides a living legacy that enables so many others to explore and enjoy words, music, and visuals. Consider making a donation today. Financial gifts will be acknowledged with a charitable tax receipt.

Your Donation Will:

  • buy resources for all levels of readers and learners
  • support new technologies
  • fund special projects
  • enhance literacy programming, and so much more!

Dedicate Your Gift

Donations in memory or in tribute of a special person or event are a wonderful way to honour someone. Please include details of your recognition on the donation form or in your letter/email.

Your tax deductible donation may pay tribute to a family member, friend, colleague or group in honour of an anniversary, birthday, graduation, retirement, wedding or in memory of a loved one.

The Library will send a card acknowledging your gift to the individual or group being honoured. If it is a memorial gift, the Library will send the card to the designated family.

Please do not mail cash or money orders.

Volunteer

Volunteers who devote their time, talents, and enthusiasm to the library touch many lives and make a difference to our community.

Services may be staffed by volunteers only when such an arrangement would enhance the quality of public service and would be the most cost-effective. Any assessment of cost-effectiveness must consider that volunteer programs have a higher supervisory

component and more extensive back-up provisions.

Tasks that may be performed by volunteers

  • Shelf-readers and Shelf-straighteners help ensure that patrons and staff can find library materials where they're supposed to be.
  • Special projects

  • Book sale volunteers
